Project Details
World Business Centre 4 is a commercial office development at Bath Road, Heathrow. The scheme required a practical and efficient structural solution to support basement car parking, office accommodation, and the requirements of a high-profile commercial location close to Heathrow Airport.
We provided full civil and structural engineering services for the project. A key element of our involvement was value engineering the tendered piled foundation solution into a raft foundation solution, providing a more efficient approach while maintaining the structural performance required for the development.
The structure incorporated a reinforced concrete transfer structure to form the car park basement, with a hot rolled steelwork frame above to form the office accommodation. The project required careful coordination of structural transitions, party wall interfaces, basement design, and commercial building requirements.
